When our kids were younger and home from school for the summer, it was a time for R & R and lots of down time . . . . sleeping in a bit, making a big breakfast at say, 11 am-ish. Ahhhh, summer!
. . . . now that all of them are grown ups, things are a bit different 'round these parts!
Rach graduated from UCONN last month, and we had a rip-roaring graduation party for her. Tons of fun - College Peeps meets Family - just a blast. Mr. Quiltdoggie had the yard looking mighty spiffy for the shindig, and the deck was decked out for the festivities, too. Becca is back in Boston, working for reals at her major-presidential-campaign-but-i'm-not-supposed-to-mention-him-by-name job, so we see her frequently, too as she's only a few hours away. YAY for that! She & Rach are busy as ever planning a bridal shower for Kaitlyn, my fabulous FDIL, who together with our son Brad, just bought a restaurant! They are super excited and super busy . . . . .and super happy! Lots of good things going on with them, and only 4 months til the wedding . . . .YIKES. More on The Three Musketeers Plus One later, but in the meantime, I thought you'd like to see some of my gardening (and I do use that word loosely!) efforts!

Peas?? Yeppers, I've got peas. Real. Actual. Green. Peas. Now mind you, I DO NOT have a green thumb, so we don't have a big ol' veggie garden, but I'm all about the containers, and my lettuce has been tres productive, and my peas are bloomin' . . . . and there are ACTUAL PEAS now. Woo hoo!

French Lavender??? Tres magnifique! I found these little French Lavender plants at my local tiny market.
We've also got some crusty pots of chamomile tucked in there, too.

Basil. Quite possibly my favorite herb. So versatile and delish. Mine is growing in an old colander.

. . . . . . and perhaps my fave, our beautiful deep purple clematis that just gets more spectacular every year!
It spills out onto the deck and up the post and blooms a thousand deep purple jewel toned blooms!
So it's just the beginning of summer, and I'm thrilled to pieces that we can pick our "daily crop" and enjoy all that nature has to offer here in our little corner of Connecticut, New England, The U. S. of A. . .
As for me, I'm getting ready for a few summer shows, Brimfield and beyond, so that's all good.
I'll be back soon with more, but in the meantime, I hope you're all off to a wonderful start of summer and enjoying all that this warm and wonderful season brings.
Talk Soon! xo P
