What?? It's Friday Already??
Geesh! This week has been a whirlwind for sure. We've had lots of family obligations this week, starting with last weekend when my Mother in Law turned 90! We had a big ol' party and she sat on the couch and just beamed with pride! Three of her Great Grand Children were there to help her blowout the candles on her cake . . . there were lots of 'em! Flash forward to Wednesday and I made the trek up to Massachusetts from Connecticut again. My sweet Auntie Alida from California passed away last winter, and they had an interrment ceremony with her ashes at the Military Cemetery on Cape Cod. She's now resting comfortably with her husband, my Uncle John. It was truly a celebration of her, and such a pleasure to see some of my 40+ cousins, and her, and my Dad's, two (of ten) remaining siblings. No doubt, Auntie Alida and my Dad, who were always BFFs, were watching down on all of us, beaming with pride.
Now. . . . onto some nifty vintage finds! Do you love that cutlery up there on red?? Me, Too!
I'm also loving this fabulous vintage Startex tablecloth with GINORMOUS clothespins! This one will be going off to find a new home, soon. I kept thinking that if this was red, it would surely be a keeper! I do love it though, it's kitschy & fun and it still has it's Startex sewn in tag, always a bonus.
Also got to adding some trim to these vintage Wilendur towels. These were pieces of toweling in odd lengths. I'm not sure what they were used for back in the day, too short for curtain panels, or if they were, someone had cut the casings off of them already. You know how much I love red gingham, and I think it adds just the right amount of red to this lovely spring floral pattern.
. . . . and here's that cutlery on red again. Good gosh, I love this. It's a small table topper, but cute-as-a-button don't you think?? No tag, but I found it with the clothespins tablecloth and suspect it may be an untagged Startex.
Any professional tablecloth collectors or tablescapers out there that might know, I'd love it if you'd share??!
I'm planning a somewhat quiet weekend ahead. Brad and Kate gave DH tickets to the PGA Tour event here in Cromwell, CT for Father's Day, so they're all headed up for some golf-y fun. I plan to get some gardening and sewing done . . . . . MY kinda fun!
Here's hoping that you, wherever you are in the world, enjoy lots of sunshine and a beautiful weekend, too!
Talk Soon! xo P
